Go Goliad is a website designed to show the hospitality and rich culture of this historic place. We're here to not only share news with our residents, but to share information with our neighbors to come and enjoy our events, eat at one of our many restaurants or shop at our stores and shops

Prior to 1749, the Goliad area was inhabited by indians, but in that year the Spanish erected a mission and a presidio (fort). The mission was named Mission Nuestra Senora del Espiratu Santo de Zuniga, while the presidio was called Presidio Nuestra Senora de Loreto de La Bahia. It was the site of the Goliad Massacre during the Texas Revolution where Col. James Fannin and men were Massacred unarmed. Today Goliad is a city of about 7,000 with many historic sites and places of interest.
